PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

I Strive to create fun , unique workouts that don't put you on the couch afterwords but make you feel invigorated and motivated to do more! In 26 years of being a personal trainer, I've found that outdoor training is the best way to do this. I first became passionate about outdoor group training after graduating from the U.S. Air Force TACP school in 1994, located at the Air Force Special Operations Headquarters, in Hurlburt Field, Florida. 2 years later I received my first personal training certification through the American Council on Exercise while serving at Ft. Hood, TX. Because of my passion for exercise and excellent service record, I was asked to administer the Physical Training program to the 11th Air Support Operations Group, which carried with it a requirement to be certified as a Master Fitness Trainer through the U.S. Army. I was very successful at managing my training programs and at keeping members of my Special Operations Unit combat ready, for this reason I was promoted to Commander's Total Fitness Program Manager for the 3rd Air Support Operations Group. Since my service in the Air Force, I have continued to train clients privately as a personal trainer and a group instructor. I have also consulted for the fitness industry, was a Fitness Director, then General Manager for a successful wellness Center in Santa Cruz, CA. I received a B.A. in Literature and an M.A. in Critical Theory and Semiotics. I believe that I will never stop learning and I continue to study Kinesiology, nutrition, and lifestyle health management on nearly a daily basis to keep up with the newest research and findings. My personal training system is based on the principals of Integrated Functional Training and my nutrition program is grounded in a whole foods, plant based diet that is adapted to each client's training, health, and lifestyle goals.
